PRIVATE COTSWOLD ESTATE ESTABLISHES CULTURAL ART PARK

WORK FROM WORLD RENOWNED ARTISTS AND SCULPTORS WILL BE ON DISPLAY

March, 2021 – Private Cotswold estate The Lakes by YOO has announced it will introduce a new cultural concept called The Lakes Art Park, which will be a revolving exhibition of installations by some of the world’s finest artists and sculptors at the estate.

The first installation will be a large white sculpture of an iconic dog, which many may recognise as one of the most famous creations by the world-renowned artist Yoshitomo Nara.

Yoshitomo Nara‘s sculpture Your Dog embodies the spirit of a child’s playmate as well as that of a menacing creature, larger than life. Its huge scale reminds viewers how the world looks through the eyes of a child. Nara’s work has attracted large audiences around the world, from fine-art collectors to commercial consumers, the opportunity to have the sculpture at the estate was one that could not be missed.

“It has always been our wish to encourage new experiences at the Lakes, primarily through outdoor experiences such as swimming, fishing, cycling, climbing, sailing and bushcraft. We are also keen to encourage learning and education with our conservation initiatives, sustainability goals and more recently with our new farmyard and beehives. The Art Park is a cultural extension of these initiatives and we hope that this outdoor live exhibition will further enhance the overall experience for families and young people on the estate,” said The Lakes by YOO Director, Giles Baker.

Sat amongst the secluded natural woodland in the meadow at The Lakes by YOO, residents and their families will be able to enjoy the Art Park, with the aspiration for more sculptures and pieces to be added and changed as the seasons come and go.

Within easy reach of London and international transport links, the Lakes by YOO is home to luxury family residences set within 850 acres of private and glorious parkland lakes, woods and meadows. Prices for homes at the estate range between £2m and £7m, with many available for rental at a cost between £12,000 and £40,000 per week

LOWE ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE FLATS FOR NHS WORKERS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GAMUDA & YOO

In these turbulent and challenging times, we have really seen people come together and share heart-warming stories of human connection, kindness and community spirit. One positive, shining light in particular that we can really take away from the last year, is the incredible work that NHS and key workers do for our local community. Praise alone, however, doesn’t do their demanding job justice and at LOWE we are committed to our collective responsibility to support the NHS and make a difference where we can.

We are therefore delighted to announce our partnership with Joint Venture Partners Gamuda and YOO Development Limited, and the really exciting opportunity that arises from this collaboration. Owners of an established residential rental building on Commercial Road, near Aldgate East Underground Station, Gamuda and YOO are reserving 10% of the building’s 1-bedroom flats and will be making them available to LOWE at nil rents, exclusively for NHS workers. This exclusive guardianship opportunity will mean crucial key workers can live in close proximity to their places of work at a significantly reduced rate.

The flats are conveniently located near the Royal London Hospital and the BMI London Independent Hospital (which is supporting the NHS and Royal London at this critical time during the pandemic). In addition, for our crucial key workers further afield, Aldgate and Aldgate East Underground Stations, major bus routes and other means of public transport are on the doorstep of this property.

Both Gamuda and YOO are renowned for delivering projects with a relentless focus on community, high-quality design and the ever-evolving lifestyle needs of occupiers.

A spokesperson for the Gamuda YOO Joint Venture said, “As a responsible corporate citizen, we often speak about our values and how much we care for our community. Now is the time to make good on that commitment. By offering accommodation to NHS workers, on the basis to those who need it most, we hope we can contribute in some small way. We are making available what we can at this stage, and should this prove of assistance, we will examine ways to expand this undertaking in the weeks and months ahead.”

Tim Lowe, Founder & Director of LOWE Guardians, says “We are so excited to offer this exclusive opportunity together with Gamuda and YOO to open up a generous accommodation option for NHS workers in the heart of London. At LOWE, we believe in offering guardianship to provide affordable housing with a social purpose, so we can give back to those who keep our communities safe.”

Tim goes on to say, “We know that many of our guardians are facing a challenging and uncertain future, and from an economic standpoint the consequences of COVID-19 are still unravelling. We have dedicated our company ethos to supporting our Guardians to thrive and succeed as much as we possibly can, and NHS workers deserve our support more than ever.”

We want this community to be full of kind, hardworking individuals for whom this opportunity would make all the difference. As such, and to ensure that the accommodation goes to those in the NHS who need it most, there will be a specific application process with a tailored questionnaire, and the guardians will be chosen by us.
